Peter O'Brien MGLDA
(Owner & Principal Designer)
Following his early career in professional carpentry and building contracting, and tapping into his lifetime love of gardens & design, in 1994 Peter O’Brien developed a new career in garden design and landscaping trading as Plan Eden. Over the years, Peter has developed the company into a mature and forward thinking practice, dealing with both private gardens and commercial developments. He recently designed and built an award winning show garden ‘Enchanted Wood’ at Bloom 2018, winning Silver-Gilt medal and Best in Show for a small garden, the garden being formed around one of his own Dr. Seuss inspired treehouses.
Over the last several years Peter has diversified the business into the specialist area of the design and build of bespoke treehouses and outdoor play equipment, in time establishing Forest Wild Treehouses as a division of Plan Eden. Peter is an accomplished designer and craftsman, with his background in design, carpentry and construction giving him a unique understanding of the complexities of treehouse design and detailing. “I’ve always tried to bring a sense of passion and an eye for detail to whatever I do, creating individual, high quality bespoke projects and always looking to advance and build on my experience”.
Peter is a fully accredited member and former chairman of the Garden and Landscape Designers Association (GLDA), and as such his work is always carried out to the highest professional standards.
